Katherine Z. Crouch
Attorney and Notary Public

Katherine Z. Crouch is a New Orleans attorney and founder of Crouch Law, LLC. Since 2014, she has represented clients throughout Louisiana in criminal defense, civil litigation, family law, and expungement matters. Katherine is known for providing thoughtful, client-centered representation and guiding clients through difficult legal situations with honesty, preparation, and compassion.
Katherine regularly represents clients facing misdemeanor and felony charges in Orleans Parish, Jefferson Parish, and surrounding jurisdictions, including cases involving DWI, drug offenses, violent crimes, gun charges, and sex offenses. She also assists clients with driver’s license reinstatements, ignition interlock issues, and other DMV-related matters.
In addition to criminal defense, Katherine handles expungements and civil litigation matters, helping clients move forward after arrests, convictions, and other legal disputes. She understands that involvement with the legal system can affect every aspect of a person’s life, including employment, housing, family relationships, and future opportunities.
Since 2023, Katherine has served on the Orleans Public Defenders Conflict Panel, representing clients charged with serious felony offenses. Her work includes motion practice, evidentiary hearings, trial preparation, and post-conviction litigation. In one notable post-conviction case, Katherine successfully helped secure the vacature of a client’s prior conviction after newly discovered evidence revealed the client had likely been incompetent at the time of the original plea.
Katherine previously served as an Investigations Review Attorney for the Office of the Independent Police Monitor in New Orleans, where she reviewed police misconduct investigations, analyzed use-of-force incidents, and worked to promote accountability and transparency within the criminal legal system. That experience strengthened her investigative skills and deepened her understanding of law enforcement practices and procedures—insight that continues to benefit her clients today.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Katherine also worked at Ron Austin Law, where she assisted with complex civil litigation and multidistrict litigation matters involving extensive document review, case analysis, and investigative work. That experience further strengthened her ability to manage detail-intensive cases and develop strategic approaches to litigation.
Katherine received her Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law and her Bachelor of Arts from Vanderbilt University. She is licensed to practice in all Louisiana state courts and the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana.
When clients hire Crouch Law, they receive direct access to their attorney, clear communication about their case, and dedicated advocacy at every stage of the process.
